I understand that when people get used to something they fear any change to it but I'm super-excited about v4! I've been looking for a different rule set for the entire four years I've been playing FoW because I think the complexity completely gets in the way of the gameplay. I'm optimistic that v4 will finally be the WWII minis game that I've always wanted to play.

I really hope Battlefront does not become another Games Workshop. I thought v3 was going to be it. The rules might get better, but please , please don't be a gw. Changes is sometimes good, just don't change the rules. I might have to play bolt action.

@Ryan Bright: If I understood the podcast, the rules are definitely changing. Not sure how that makes BF a Games Workshop. I'm hoping that some of the units I spent so much time painting up will be competitive under the new rules: Jagdpanzer IV/70 Vs, Panthers, Fallschirmjagers, etc.

I was intrigued by the idea of a change to tournament scoring! One of the things that deeply bugs me about FoW is that it is a war game in which it can be very difficult to destroy things: first you have to hit, then there's a save, then, often, FP tests - BREW UP ALREADY! So then: add it a tournament system where not losing platoons is only slightly less critical than actually winning the game and what do you get Dug in infantry, Always Defend lists and the hope that you don't roll being the attacker on missions. WWPD? Roll over in his grave!!! Let's reward boldness! SO: Can anyone explain this new system and how it will encourage players to be more aggressive or take more risks?
