The British won, didn't they? Therefore, Steve played them.

A friend of mine has a saying for roleplaying games: "The dice tell the story." I think it applies here too. We had some really extreme rolls, good and bad, back and forth, all day.

Clearly that gap must have been steeper than it looked on the commander's map, because I rolled about 5 1s for bogging. Neither of us could roll reserves for several turns. And all sorts of weird stuff happened on that hill -- the 25 pdrs destroyed a silly number of tanks in indirect fire. The captured Matilda made an improbably number of skill tests. The German fire pinned the Brits on several key turns, when really it shouldn't have. The Brits kept making crazy good morale tests and falling back juuuuuuust far enough.

Yi!

Very nice battle report, always fun to see some of the more "odd" stuff like the Finns vs Soviets or desert warfare :-)
