EDITOR'S NOTES:
Immediately after we recorded the first episode of "After Hours". It went okay, but it may take us a few episodes to settle into it- we hope you check it out and help us shape it into something worthwhile!

Easy Army by Gregg makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. He definitely if filling a gab by bringing list creation technology to the next level. While it is fun to work out the list with paper and a calculator, it is so much easier to use his software and get a printout of the OOB with all the needed into. All I can say while I have access to the free trial now, I will be lining up to be a full paying customer once this product is ready for release.

Nice episode guys. Could not for some reason download it though, listened through the stream that appeared when clicking the download link.

Anyway, about Vietnam.
It all sounds good, I do think that people will be hesitant to cross over from WW2 territory to Vietnam off the bat though. Considering you need completely new terrain, lots of jungles, Asian style huts and a different style on pretty much everything. Unless someone plays 15mm WW2 Pacific warfare building/getting new terrain might be a lot of hassle.

Some of the rules sound cinematic, but I do wonder about the long term replay value since Vietnam is much more narrowed down than WW2. The VC/NVA respawning after being killed sounds a bit like Ambush Alley with the hot spots (IIRC) where rebels/rabble spawn and keep attacking a much smaller force that has to complete an objective under pressure.

Not to say that some of the stuff doesn't sound cool. Helicopters is a big plus of course, the med evac rule also sounds pretty smart. I would love to try out the Vietnam game - but I think it will be a while (if ever) that I run across someone in my own group or groups located nearby that play it :-/

Wow! I'm sold on Easy Army for the list print out alone. I'll definitely be using their site. Thanks for pointing us in their direction.

The Easy Army stuff looks good, I think it does need a bit of work on the UI before I would choose it over Army Builder (the print out looks much much better but actually making the list is a bit clumsy).

I am quite excited about the Vietnam stuff (I got a lot of the limited release stuff a year or so a go but it didn't get painted as I was "encouraged" to paint an Early War desert Italian army). I am looking forward to painting up a PAVN force (I find getting large groups of infantry done quite satisfying) but I will paint up some US stuff as well.

One thing I did find odd in the Tropic Lightning rules is the Blackhorse Cavary Platoon -- even with the "Combined Arms Platoon" special rule this seems like it would be rather unwieldly unit

@Anatoli- that is still a fear of mine as well. The rules are very good and the models are very good, but I'm not sure how often I'd want to pick it up and play. Still, I do think they knocked it out of the park with the rules!

@Rabid & Secret- yeah, Easy army is just great. I seriously am really loving it right now.

@Duncan- keep at it, give it about 5 minutes to get used to and I think you'll find the interface growing on you. I do agree it is really the only weak point, but for the amount of work Greg has done in a short amount of time- it's just amazing! Think of it as an Alpha test right now :)

You're right about the Blackhorse Cav- kind of amazes me that the individual sections don't deploy individually the way recon units usually do in FOW.

Another heady and great episode Lads and i managed to finish painting my lw U.C patrol camoflauge whilst listening, i played TL last night as the Vietnamese (i have a Communist Army) i am not a Vietnam player but like most peeps here i have more lead than sense!, its good fun but i think that has more to do with same ruleset than anything else. The Vietnamese company seems to be heavily influenced by the hollywood sterotype more than reality (i could not use most of my Vietnamese figures or equipment!), i found Too Fat Lardies 'Charlie Don't Surf' rules much much better in every way tbh, well at least i give it a go. Great tip about Easy Army ^^, well chocks away chaps.

well as i mentioned Too Fat Lardies and you lot go on about WWII Aerial combat sometimes if you ever get the chance try the rules 'Bag The Hun' they are really good and fun to boot, i discovered them a few months ago on recommendation.

Enjoyed the show...but I'm a Graduate of KU and a huge fan - fly a game day flag, wear the clothes on game day...and am not happy when I see or VCU. :)

Anyway, I was rooting for them against Butler.

Keep up the great work.

Where do we find "After Hours"?

It isn't up yet- when it is rest assured we'll make some hoopla about it :) I've been working with Audible, but I'm not sure that's the rout we'll take. Right now it's looking like we'll be using a site called payloadz. I like it because they'll be DRM free- something I feel fairly strongly about. Give us a few days and we'll post the first one!

Easy Army is pretty freaking sweet. Thanks for looking at it. I've been loving it since I listened and I've posted it on my LGS boards for the Flames fans here in Mid-MO.
