Some Milestones!

This is my 100th post on WWPD!

I am proud to announce that my friend Tom (who features in at least half of all my battle reports) officially tied the knot this weekend! Congrats to Tom and Dianne, and thank you for the honor of having me as a groomsman!

I must say, life is good right now! One of my favorite quotes is by Kurt Vonnegut: "And I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is." Well, if life isn't nice right now, I don't know what is!

I'm enjoying my job, enjoying my hobbies, and enjoying spending time with my wife and friends. What else can one ask for?

In hobby related news- I am almost done with 10 new Panzer IVs. After that I plan to try and tear through some of my backlog before I dive into early war.

I was debating who to play in Early War, and my decision was based on 2 major factors: 1) I like cool looking tanks that aren't necessarily any good (see my M14s, Crusaders, and Grants). 2) I like the underdogs (See Italians and British armor in MW). So naturally I decided to play the French.

If anyone has any advice or suggestions, sound off!

Have a great week!

Congrats on your 100th.
Congrats to Tom and Dianne who ever they are.;)

Keep up the good life, enjoy it to the fullest.
I know everything about the opposite of it.

If i ever going for Early War, i go for a British tank company. They are so damn ugly that they become nice to have.;)

Enjoy the week.

You know, I wrote up a long blog post about which army to choose for early war. It was about a page or so. When I got done writing it, I felt it was no good to anyone but me. Now I'm wishing I posted it. :)

Obviously you and I are in the same boat. However, how can you call the little M14 no good! When the battle is over, it's usually the M14 that wins the day for me (we the 3 or 4 that survived the battle. lol). The semovente's do get a lot of credit, but it's my opponents focus on them that usually lets my M14's get close range, side armor shots.

Anyway, back on to the original discussion. I'm torn between a French tank company and a Polish something or other. I haven't seen any Polish models yet, but I too like the underdogs and cool looking armor. You know how much I hate painting infantry, but I'm also considering some sort of French infantry, tank mix.

I just hope I finish my Bersag Co. first. I guess time will tell.

get crackin' on those Bersaglieri! I've only played one game with them and they got fairly hammered by the brits. I need to give them another try soon.

I'm in agreement- painting infantry sucks. And I especially didn't want to paint any EW German infantry. I already have a full grenadier, pioneer, and panzergrenadier company for late war! Plus Begleit, and support options- at least 12 full platoons of infantry.

So I'll probably start with French tanks and work my way up to French infantry (with lots of artillery). I wasn't excited about EW, but now I think I've caught the bug.
